Star Wars: The Roleplaying Game, Guild Wars
Roleplaying day, and despite discussions that maybe we might play something else, we ended up playing Star Wars again. When we last left our story, everyone was sad about people getting kidnapped and stuff. So, in this episode, we do some investigating to find out just who and why is being kidnapped. But first, someone attempted to assassinate my character! They did a horrible job, and I was now as riled as a smooth investigator would be, and contacted my Jedi friends, in hopes that they would be able to handle any further violence.
Our investigation took a long time, in which we find that my client had been killed, some threatening e-mails were sent to a lot of senators, the police had some crooks in their ranks that we helped rat out when they threatened one of the people we rescued, some more aides were missing, and chief among the issue was a couple of bills that would increase security of senators and redraw the districts to include the crappy neighborhood we lived in to be included in the principal precinct.
A general soak of the crooked cops revealed they were sent undercover to try and prove the local PD incompetent, and were hired by one of the senator’s aides, who we had rescued the night before. Apparently she wasn’t there being held, but rather a villain disguising herself. (A plot point I really should have seen coming.) So we go up to her apartment building, and there’s a huge ass fight that ends up with a lot of dead minions, and the accidental killing of the villain. What was she up to? Why? Luckily we found some evidence on the scene, and we’ll investigate this bizarre mystery further.
Then I went home and played Guild Wars. I had to get a hunk of drake flesh to continue on my quest, and it turns out that is a hard drop, so it took me about an hour to get it, but I’m now well on my way in the new plot…which is apparently still forever long. So, I guess I’ll keep going? Apparently there are specialty weapons at the end of it, another thing I’ll need to get some more rewards for Guild Wars 2.
