What I Played Today: July 28

Catherine

I was so excited for Catherine, because I like everything this team does. It's a good team! But after seeing some intial reviews, it was becoming clear that this may not hit it out of the park. I'm not upset, people are allowed to stumble, and I like puzzle games on occasion, and this one seems fast-paced, surely, but I cannot get started, because I am stuck on the second puzzle of the game.

I know! That shouldn't happen! But I just can't wrap my head around this part where there are a lot of blocks I can't move that make like a crown shape, and I can't seem to get around it. Everything I try creates this weird gap that will drop me to my death. It's frustrating.

I do like the acting though, and the set-up of the story is very Tales of the Crypt, as this lady with a huge red afro introduces us to the story as if we're playing this at 1 a.m. on a Saturday. It's a nice, goofy aesthetic, and if the game were any easier, I would be excited.
