Rift
Today on the "try new things" list, I joined a guild! Some guy asked, and he didn't sound like a scamsky, so I said okay, and now I've got friends. And it turned out pretty well, actually, as one of the first things that happens is one guy asked the group if anyone could maybe craft some bags for him, and I said I totally could, and as a trade, he gave me nine (9!) pieces of eternal planar dust, which is something that I just absolutely needed to do some good crafting. I first demurred, saying, "No, no, I can't possibly," but he said no big, and so there we are. I can now do the crafting quests! So I joined a crafting lure party, which took about an hour standing around in the desert waiting for tears, then walking over to them and completely demolishing them, then getting some sweet drops, mostly to the tune of minor catalysts and eternal planar dust. It's a rich get richer kinda thing, as I now have enough planar dust for three more lures! Unfortunately, you can only do the quest once a week, so it'll be a while before I have enough plaques to learn how to make the hot armor set. That's not even getting into the absurd crafting cost, as I need eight pieces of cloth that cost me personally like 10 plat a piece to craft. But I'm getting somewhere!
Also tried another Tier 1 dungeon, and it went poorly. I blame the bozos I was with, as they didn't really explain what was going on, expected me to know exactly what to do in a boss fight that I easily beat before with another group that we couldn't stop wiping on, and expected me to follow instructions they weren't giving me. For some reason, after the second wipe, the monsters that were added to the fight were suddenly standing by the front door of the dungeon, so you couldn't just walk back to your mark? Anyway, after dying to those jerks and getting chastised for dying, I guess, I just said, "Hey, I'm a complete moron, so I'm leaving," when really I was thinking, "Screw these clowns. I'm pretty sure I'm not the problem here. I'm not helping, sure, but these guys..." So yeah, that sucked!
