Summoner Wars, Batman: Arkham City
I lost another game of Summoner Wars. I almost had it, I think, if I had rolled a little better and played my last turn a lot better. The summoner I had had a lot of events that were very situation-specific, so I couldn't get a lot of use out of them, and my champions were cheap, but they sucked. There was one who could get discarded at random. But whatever, I made a tactical mistake at the end, and that took me out. Someday I will win!
Also beat Batman. Protocol Ten happened, and it was pretty bad, and then something else happened, and I should have seen it coming, because they left a lot of good clues that I just missed. (It also made a weird gameplay thing that really ruined me to make a lot of sense.) And then something really interesting happened! I had the hardest time with fist fights, having to try a particular one about eight or nine times, but eventually I figured it out.
At one point I was just trucking along and the game decided that it didn't feel like loading the last part of a stage. I'm climbing this big tower and go through this vent and suddenly I'm dumped into this big open space on top of the tower. There's nowhere to go, and I can't really interact with anything, and I'm just lost. So after checking a strategy guide and being even more confused (what gargoyles), a video is loaded up that makes us realize, "Oh, this is bugged. Okay." So we boot up again and everything is back where it's supposed to be. So that's good.
And...for some reason, after the game is over, the game is all like, "Oh guess what, you have to finish being Catwoman." Man, the timing of this just felt so wrong, and it felt really tacked on. Well, it technically was, I guess. But after I finished with her, Batman showed up again, apparently having changed or something, because he already left, and there still like five or more serial killers on the loose in Arkham City, so I gotta clean those up. I'm kinda looking forward to playing more, because there's a TON of content left, though I really need to work on how I handle combat, because to be really good at it, you need to be super precise, and I button mash like crazy.
