What I Played Today: November 5

The Ares Project, Batman: Arkham City

A game that has been on my radar for what feels like a year now has finally come out, and I like it. The Ares Project plays as a tabletop RTS, in which you built up your army behind a screen and at certain points, you stage an attack to either head into the frontier or strike your opponent's base. We played the basic game, in which a lot of the extra fluff is left out, and I lost both times, mainly because I played with a bunch of peons while my opponent built up huge forces, and because, I think, one side is stronger than the other in the base game. I want to try this full game, but the game itself is really dense, with a lot of moving pieces. I'll have to read the rulebooks a few more times.

I also downloaded the new Nightwing content, and I like Nightwing a lot. He's a fun guy to play with, faster than Batman, with a few interesting gadgets, such as an electric burst that stuns everyone that gets hit by it. I don't know, I enjoy playing with him, and now I've entered the terrifying world of the Riddler's Revenge, in which you have to fight pitch perfectly in order to score three stars, which is...hard. I have done a little research and figured out where the points are (answer: keep your combo up, perform as many different moves as you can), it's just a matter of trying and execution.
