What I Played Today: May 9

EVE Online, Civilization V

I had an unpleasant experience in EVE Online! It was actually sort of funny, I had purchased a cheap skill book without actually checking to see where it was being sold. It was a low sec area, and I'm always nervous going there. Turns out I had reason to be, there was a suspect in the area, and when I docked I saw he was hanging out outside the station. When I undocked, he immediately targeted me and shut down my warp. It was then that I noticed he had a 1.4 BILLION ISK bounty on his head. Fortunately, I could just dock back into the station again, and you are always completely safe in NPC stations, so I just had to wait him out.

I waited four hours.

Not straight. I did other stuff, but would occasionally log back in, see that he was still out there, and log back off. At one point I was contacted by someone after an unsuccessful attempt to get away again, who claimed to be the criminal's secretary. I gave him a very loud "NOPE!" and logged out again. I did eventually get away when he seemed to have given up on harassing me, so...cool story.

I also played a lot of Civilization V. I eventually abandoned a lot of save games I had, because I couldn't even remember. I find myself suddenly chomping at the bit for more content, and saw that I already own all the official DLC, and the next expansion isn't for a couple of months. Too long! So I started an epic length game on a huge map, why not?
