Today was not very fun. I didn't feel like playing any video games, so I didn't. I did get through the worst season of Buffy though. I can tell now why nobody liked this one, because it is so goddamn REAL. A lot of problems that aren't solved by staking something, WAY too much attempted rape, and all our friends end up hating each other until the literal end of the world convinces them that maybe it'll be okay. It was not "fun" to watch. It was an interesting direction to go, but the snappy dialogue had a hard time propping up such difficult material. It also didn't help that the major villain is just some douchebag. Not a vampire lord, not a megalomanical mayor, not a god, but just a misogynistic jerk who gains too much power and abuses it. And of course all of his attacks are the most devastating, as they were all psychological. Buffy nearly completely gave up THREE TIMES in this season. THREE TIMES.
