What I Played Today: June 19 - 26

Civilization: Beyond Earth, Skyrim

I've been moving and without Internet this week, and I just recently got it back, so let me tell you about the few games I played when I didn't have the Internet. (Now that I do have the Internet, I'm punching Sentinels. Marvel Heroes is having a big event, y'all).

I played about a hundred turns of Civilization: Beyond Earth, it's an interesting game. You spend most of the early game figuring out just how you deal with the aliens, and I misunderstood and apparently starting walking down the path of "Kill All Aliems" so I spent a good 40 turns just building soldiers and slaughtering weird wolves. I really like that is this game, all of your buildings come with an additional effect that you choose in the form of quests. It's an interesting idea! I do agree that it's hard to care about what happens because it just doesn't have the historical impact, but it's a solid enough Civilization mod that they decided to sell as its own game.

I also played a few hours of Skyrim. I did a couple of mage college quests, and I visited a few cities. I did the Wabbajack quest, which is always hilarious. I bought my first home, and visited a few cities so that I have a bit more mobility. Basically, I'm screwing around. Skyrim is mostly screwing around.
