Rift
I still have a Rift account! I couldn’t tell you why, I sure haven’t been playing it, but I’ve been paying for it, so why not. I’m in the obligatory near-late game section in the mountains. Because once you are tooling around near the level cap, you always want to be dicking around in the snow. (Seriously, why do all fantasy MMOs take you to the mountains at this point in the game?) I beat up a bunch of dudes, as you do, but it’s just getting more intense and I’m not sure I like it. One thing that I always thought was cool that now kinda bothers me is that the overworld rift stuff can spawn enemies in a village, shutting it down until you can clear them out. Which wouldn’t be that big of deal if the game had the population it was hoping for, but just makes things super awful for the solo player who is just trying to complete the next quest chain. Having to sidetrack yourself for five minutes to complete an objective with pisspoor rewards (giving a certain amount of currency that you can’t spend on anything valuable) is just a little annoying.
