What I Played Today: July 16-17

Rift

Listen, let me pull back the curtain a bit. I don't actually get around to writing my posts for what I play on Friday through Sunday until Monday, mainly because I'm superlazy and I have other projects I want to work on instead, and time I spend writing blog posts is time spent not gaming.

But I cannot legitimately write two separate blog posts about this weekend because the only thing I played all weekend for what feels like all the hours was Rift. I just got a big groove and starting playing the crap out of it. Went up a couple of levels, did every single dang daily quest for the new event on both days, and just mellowed the hell out.

I kept trying to switch my set to something other than necromancer/warlock, but I just felt naked without my skeleton buddy, so I kept switching back. It pretty goofy that they have all these classes available to everyone, because I imagine that it's going to end up the same case I'm in, where I'm uncomfortable switching to something else because I've already leveled with this given set. Maybe if the classes had some identifable different functions and I didn't feel like I was drowning when I changed to another one, being overwhelmed with over 30 new powers when I change roles. But since all but two of the classes under my perview are DPS, there's no reason not to run with the set that I already know by heart, 1-2-7-6-1-3-repeat until dead.
