What I Played Today: October 8

Rune Factory 3, Bastion, (disclosed)

A break from the usual nonsense, I spent the day hanging out in my living room, away from my damn computer, playing on my 3DS. I mostly played Rune Factory, planting some, talking some, and eventually going into the desert to visit the monsters. I don't know why everyone hates these monsters. They look pretty normal, they just have horns coming out of their head. Anyway, these guys need help with a giant skeleton dragon, which I'm not allowed to fight with actual weapons because I have to pretend to be a monster, and that jerk is hard! Couple things I do like: I have been able to purchase a lot of crafting stations, and in order to learn more recipes, you have to buy bread and eat it. Recipe bread! That just sounds ridiculous and I like it. Also, the characters still have a ton more personality than they do in other Harvest Moon games, which is kinda ridiculous, since Rune Factory games also have a lot more gameplay than Harvest Moon games too.

I also played like 15 minutes of Bastion, because I remembered I owned it. It's still Bastion! But I didn't get very far because I bored on it fairly quickly.

I also playtested a couple of games of something that I'm not explaining, because I'm still working on the rules and I'm not convinced that it's actually fun yet and that's all I'm saying.
