Saints Row the Third, Assassin's Creed: Revelations
Back in the Assassin's Creed multiplayer some more. The metagame has already gotten away on me. I did not do well today. For one thing, I noticed something deeply disturbing about Deathmatch; all the NPCs are played by characters that are not being played by players...so...it's really easy to tell when another player is around. I don't think I like this! What might have hurt my experience with particular Deathmatch is that someone has a shit microphone that was picking up background sound, and the game is such that whenever you are standing close to someone you hear what's pumping through their mic, so...for the majority of the game, I hear just the constant warble of the ocean. It was annoying.
Also played a lot of Saints Row the Third, in which I did a lot of stuff, moving things along. I've met my new crew, did all their dumb activities, and have met the real bad guy. I...think. I have no idea who the real bad guy is in Saints Row games. I still felt the huge tonal difference inbetween the zany and over the top action scenes and the cutscenes. Death still means something in this game, and it's terrible. I felt a bit of a disconnect during the link between Acts 1 and 2, but it picks up quickly, and I'm liking it. I think my favorite dumb activity was the one where I had to drive around town with a tiger. A TIGER!
