What I Played Today: May 1

Marvel Heroes

Hey guys, they finally added something cool to Marvel Heroes! Not just another hero who I refuse to play because every new release I see so many of them wandering around Avengers Tower that I actively avoid them! Achievements!

They actually did a really good job with achievements. There are hundreds, in all sorts of arenas, but every achievement also comes with a reward of some kind, usually a respec potion or an Omega point, or a chest with a bunch of gear in it. Then there are the achievements that give you special costumes or team-up members, like the nested set of Guardians of the Galaxy-based achievements that will eventually get you the movie version of Groot. It's really interesting! And while there are some achievements that require having a certain pet or team-up member, it appears that there are none that require you to actually spend money, which is nice. The only thing I don't like is how predicable the hero achievements are, as the last three achievements are exactly the same for each one; get all their unique items, get them to level 60, and be good enough with the hero to defeat the hardest version of Doctor Doom in three minutes. I really don't want to do the last one for each hero, for some reason. Mainly because fighting Doctor Doom is a pain in the ass no matter who you play.

Anyway, I ran around and got as many achievements as I could think of. Of, visit every hub? Done and done. Give me those retcon devices.
