What I Played Today: September 9

Two Dots, Fate Techtonics

I downloaded a goddamn freemium puzzle game. It's a trap. The game is fine, clever, well designed, but there are the same goddamn trappings. It starts simple enough, just connect the dots, but then the objectives become just difficult enough that you kind of need to use one of the various bonuses to have a chance, and that's...pretty annoying! I have made a bit of progress, but there several hundred levels before I sleep, so...I'll see how I do.

I also got the newest joint that I hear is pretty good, Fate Techtonics. It's a simple tile-placing game, in which you are trying to build up a world, but you need to worry about structural integrity, as tiles can't survive very long on their own. I got through a single session, eventually unlocking the water god, and then it turned on me and said, "Hey, now destroy the world you created." HM! I kinda of like the give and take here. Interesting game so far.
