What I Played Today: April 24

Final Fantasy XIII, Bloons Tower Defense 4

Spent a lot of time in the city today, so not a lot of gaming. Walked through the next section of Final Fantasy XIII, and think I’ve forgotten how to play the game at this point, because I’m not exactly sure what I’m doing. I’m really crossing my fingers that it’ll start opening up here soon, with a little freedom, but I cannot be sure. I do know it’s been 2 hours since a real boss fight, so I hope one is coming up. I’m not giving up just yet.

I’ve also got a certain rhythm going with the tower defense game...and have sufficiently leveled enough to have all the upgrades available. There is one thing that bothers me about the game that I haven’t mentioned yet. At any time, you can use money to basically win the game. You can pay real money to double the amount of money you get each turn, to get an even better upgrade for any of your towers, and even to buy more lives during the game. This kind of thing is pretty despicable when there are badges attached. People can basically pay to gain points on the website’s achievement system. While the points don’t actually DO anything, it still feels a bit off.
