Roll Through the Ages
So, maybe a month ago I heard that this popular dice game had been converted to an iPhone app, and I had been preventing myself from downloading it, for no good reason. Then it got on the Spiel de Jahres list, and although it didn’t win, I finally caved and downloaded it, and it is not bad. A dice game with multiple ways to victory, either building monuments or striving for a great number of developments.
All good dice games have a solo mode, and I’ve played six games of this one, just because I want to see what I can possibly do to try to win this game. I’ve done pretty well, actually, scoring a fantastic 61 points in a game where I went full developments, going full cities and buying up developments that gave high points with my huge cashflow and a few lucky rolls. I like it, and I like that I can play a game really fast in about ten minutes of downtime. It’s certainly likely to get a lot of play, at least until I’ve completed all the achievements for the solo mode.
