What I Played Today: October 14

Final Fantasy: The 4 Heroes of Light, Sakura Wars: So Long, My Love

Okay, I’ve played about all the Final Fantasy I can play before I get totally frustrated, and I promised to write a review (which I completely forgot about), so having been sufficiently bothered by it, I guess it’s time to make my opinion, which I will reiterate in mass later and then link to here. So, there we go.

Also played another part of Sakura Wars, and it continues to be a bit silly. The game isn’t as transparent about what it going on than I was expecting, but the characters are nice. I’m glad that the majority of the main characters inexplicably hate me, because that’s fun. Although the lawyer continues to be an obnoxious character, and now I am in the point where I’m walking into a lion’s den, I.e., her office.

There were some weird things though. For some reason, the Japanese main character decides to go to the Japanese display at the museum, and upon seeing a sword, suddenly feels a strange energy. Yes, it turns out that all Japanese people are in tune to supernatural powers, and the awesome side character decides to comment how the MC is duty-bound to protect Japan. Mind…he is currently in New York. I’m amazed how he is able to protect a country on the other side of the world by flirting with chicks from Texas.

Also, the character went to Harlem, and there was honest-to-god gang graffiti in the background. Graffiti! In 1928 New York! What the hell? You can’t even pretend that you’re paying any attention at this point; I don’t care if there are steam mechs.
