What I Played Today: March 26

Rift, Persona 4

Screwing around in that one MMO today, because Guild Wars 2 is never coming out. I am almost done with the first zone, which is too bad, because there are apparently dozens of collectible artifacts around it. I did buy a horse, or specifically a gazelle, which makes it easy to get around. It’s nice to have the option to run faster in the first 20 levels of the game (or from the start if you paid 10 extra bucks), because man was I bored of walking. I changed out my set to include the healing class for mages, which is pretty interesting and works well when you have a lot of damage over time spells, able to keep myself in good health as long as I’m not overwhelmed. Anyway, I’m bored of the undead, and I may just skip the endcap quest that requires me to kill some big dumb skeleton who cheats (he keeps his soul in boxes that I can’t break very easily) to check out the next zone. Although I have a story quest that requires me to shut down rifts, so I might be here a while.

In Persona 4, I managed to defeat Mitsuo somehow, although I used a lot of items that I probably shouldn’t have, but whatever, the little dick has been brought to justice and now there will be no more problems ever. Now it’s time for a month of lunch dates and study sessions, which I’m stupidly excited about, because if I’m going to pretend to be anyone, it might as well be a popular and athletic high schooler who has a half dozen female friends. There was a weird but totally in-character scene with girlfriend Ai, who got extremely jealous when the idol that the MC is inexplicably friends with wants to say hi. Now that I think about it, no, that’s not weird at all. Why are they friends with an idol? That’s about as bizarre as having a dog as a front line fighter in Persona 3. Not as weird as the battle android though.
