Stacking
I finished Stacking today, getting through the triple-decker train engine and finally defeating the Baron and his evil plot. I always hate the last level of these puzzley adventure games, because it never seems to understand when it’s done. It always cuts you off from the rest of the game and forces you to quickly figure out a new set of puzzles that aren’t all that intuitive or “apply” resources that you may not remember. I would be perfectly fine with an ending sequence that happens at the end of the definitive last level, not a tacked on thing in which I have to play a weird game of roshambo with the villain, especially after a completely out-of-flavor cutscene in which the main character runs (tumbles?) away from a fireball (serious, what the hell).
BUT, the game was still good, clever, awesome. I suggest it. Just…be prepared to read, because while Double Fine is ramping to release another two games in the next six months, they will not be hiring any voice actors.
