Guild Wars 2
Ah...that's better. I enjoyed this more. I enjoyed running around the city, I enjoyed all the little touches, and while the Mesmer plays way differently, I like the change. It definitely fits the game they made better than the old way, and that will be the roughest sell they have. This is not the same game. Not even close. They definitely approached this as a multiplayer "single player" game, in which hanging out with others is neat and helpful, but you can handle this yourself, and you should look at your skill set as a specific tool. There are not a lot of skills, but that is good, because you don't need them. If you want freedom and the specific CCG feel? They have that game already. This game is different, and I respect that.
I have nothing specific to say about it, unfortunately. I did play some fun quests, including one where you just solved a lot of riddles, and I like that after you help out a dude, he will totally give you neat stuff if you have enough "karma" points, which is just another currency. I don't like that when you full heart a person, they give you money, not karma, because that doesn't make sense. The only thing I can buy from these dummies requires karma, and the only thing I do for them is get them to like me, why are they throwing copper at me?
The main quest line is also interesting, but I can imagine it getting dull. It's the same thing every time, and while I'm huge fans of Uptown Johnny and Dead-Eye Dalla, I can only fight them so many times before I think ho-hum. I'm a Guild Wars migrant, I will only play humans because they didn't make any reasonable differences between races, please make me care about their storylines more.
