Guild Wars 2
Hey it's another free beta weekend, and my enthusiasm has waned! I don't know, I had a lot of other things going on, but I did try to play a bit. I unlocked the first tier of the talent tree, which apparently you have to pay for, hurrumph, and it's actually a bit better than I think. Instead of a bunch of shitty little bonuses, you get a big push on a particular stat, and if you put in enough points, you get a strong modifier. The chain I'm looking at will give all of my illusions retaliation, which is awesome, as well as increase boon durations.
They also changed how you buy your secondary skills, which is good, because it helped me focus and pick the awesome Mantra of Inspiration, which grants you a random boon every 10 seconds. Neat. I am a bit disappointed that there are not a ton of skills available; that once you pick up a certain weapon, you're going to be attacking the same way no matter what. Maybe if you get 2-to-4 standard skills based on the weapon, and then each weapon has a unique skill? I don't know, I'm sure I'm overreacting. Having a ton of skills that I never use isn't as helpful as having a known set of weapons that have specific purposes.
