Dominion, Wallenstein, The Resistance
Dominion: Dark Ages is out, and of course I purchased it almost immediately because I'm kind of a dummie. It is pretty good, all the new cards are very clever, although you should probably not buy Rats. Actually, go ahead and buy Rats. You should try it. It'll be fun.
Then I played Wallenstein, which is a weird area control in which only one of your territories can do a certain thing during a turn. Also, every combat is handled by dropping all cubes involved in the fight into this tower. Some of the cubes will get stuck on the way out, some cubes inside might be knocked free, etc. It's quick and pretty clever. I like some of the tight decisions, and how you have to worry about when you will get resources or not. Although...my whole plan fell apart in the second year, as I ran out of money and the territories I planned to tax would get taken over by an opponent before I could tax them. So...I ended the game with four whole states, and maybe ten troops. It did not go well, but I could totally play this game again.
Then a quick game of the Resistance with the second edition materials. It looks pretty good, and the Resistance won, so that was great.
