What I Played Today: June 20

Stardew Valley

I remembered that Stardew Valley was a game, and then I played it for a day. One day. I kind of forgot what was going on, and it's winter, so that sucks, but at least I learned how to make sashimi? I don't know.

Stardew Valley

I got into winter in Stardew Valley. I was kind of hoping there was some planting to do during winter, but NOPE, so I guess I'll get to the bottom of the dungeon and do some fishing and whatnot. I did complete one of the challenges in the community center, which gives me some fast travel between three places in town, so THAT'S fun.

Stardew Valley

I am still plugging away at Stardew Valley. My apple tree is finally grown. I'm down to level 65 in the dungeon. Some people like we well enough, but I keep accidentally giving them like shells and stuff, which they do not like. Anyway, it continues to be interesting and fun.

Stardew Valley

I have decided that I like Stardew Valley. It is a pretty good recreation of Harvest Moon that is more American-focused. The farming is interesting enough, there's eventually plenty to do, and while the character development could use some work, amazingly, I think it will eventually get there. I seriously can not understand how the characters in this game have LESS personality than the Japanese-developed games. Like, there are 10 bachelors and bachelorettes, and the only personality I notice is based upon their hairstyle. CRAZY.

But I'm a third of the way through Spring, so...that's fun. Gonna get myself a backpack, build a coop, figure out what's going on with the inevitable mythical element of this one.

Stardew Valley

I ended up downloading Stardew Valley, the fan attempt at making a Harvest Moon game. It's alright! I have not yet formed a strong opinion, I will just call it alright. I do like the mild attempt at setting it in the modern day, with all the baggage that entails. (It's...mostly Wal-Mart, but at least it's an attempt.)
