What I Played Today: November 19

Diablo III

I did some adventure mode stuff in Diablo III, and got my Monk to level 70 so she could gain some paragon levels, and also managed to get a lot of recipes somehow. Also got that weird cube that they keep talking about. It definitely is a cube. That's fine, this is fun. I will likely get bored of this soon.

Diablo III

I finished Diablo III today; it was remarkably easy! All I had to do was travel down to the death plane and take in the death power from my mentors, who were dead, and then I could punch Death to death. Death death death.

But OH NO! Defeating Death means that Diablo is loose! Again! I guess that will be a problem in 10 years when they release Diablo IV! But yeah, I've gotten to the point where I am just punching dudes like crazy and it's not hard at all, so I guess I need to ramp up the difficulty.

I also started a Crusader, why not? Get myself some of those chievos.

Diablo 3

I played a little bit of Diablo 3, on a whim. Punched a bunch of demons, killed a lady who turned into a gross scorpion, and then I went to Pandemonium, also known as Super Heaven, and killed some ancient demons? Anyway, I'm this close to the end of the game, I think, so...let's see how long I stall this time!

Diablo III, Fantasy Life

I wandered around and punched reapers all day. This city I'm in is pretty big, there are a lot of reapers in it, and also a lot of sidequests. So, I've been doing them, defeating giant balls of magic, whatever. There are also some quests from my companions, in which they deal with their various issues. That's fun, I guess! This expansion sure feels like they tried to prove it was worth the money!

I also played a bit of Fantasy Life. It was just a small amount.

Dark Souls, Diablo III

Hey, I figured out the first little section of jerks in Dark Souls rather easily, actually. Now I have no idea how to kill the big goat demon, which is...impossible. Fun.

SO! I went ahead and beat the main game of Diablo III instead. I can punch the crap out of anything, and I did! I punched the crap out of all the demons, and closed a few portals to Hell, and all the angels were mad at me, but they are pretty powerless against me. I eventually climb a big tower full of demons and managed to punch Diablo III in the face. Constantly! He fell down, and everyone said nice things about me. Thanks everybody! But now I'm off to the expansion chapter, and some jackass angel is trying to end the world. Stupid jackass angel.

Diablo III

I played through all of Act III of Diablo III, because I guess I was almost done. It was really dumb because the entire time I was being taunted by this stupid sexy spider, who was more annoying than sexy, and she was taken out after finally bothering to fight me, and then I got ready to take on the other five lieutenants, but instead I just walked up to Azmodan, who I killed easily while he constantly looped his taunt dialogue, even after he died. Um...where were the other guys? I was promised seven sin lieutenants, I saw maybe two? Did they just FORGET that they set this up?

But anyway, there was betrayal, of course there was, and now Diablo is loose and about to destroy Heaven. My, that will be interesting, I bet. (quietly falls asleep)

Diablo III, Life is Strange

I played some more Diablo III, which involves wandering around and punching demons. It is kinda dull! I finally pushed back the demon army to their gate (To which Azmodan gloated to me was a complete waste of time, because it's a cartoonish villain) and now I guess I'm going in there to punch more demons. A sexy lady demon taunted me, because of course she did.

I also played through the first episode of Life is Strange! It's pretty good! The format is very similar to the Walking Dead, but the topic is quite different, as you play a very awkward teenage girl who is just trying to get by at her special art school, oh and also she gains time travel powers. YOU KNOW. But the writing is very good, well done, the characters are somehow pretty compelling, and there's just enough mystery to drive the story for four more episodes. You should go play it! Although, if you play it, be sure to look around and check everything out, as I found out to there were about half a dozen decision points that I did not engage with! OH NO! Sure, they were tiny ones, but some poor bird died due to my negligence!

Diablo III

Killing demons in the mountains, as you do. Azmodan, the big bad of this chapter, is really goddamn chatty and also one of those big bad who continues to insist they are winning even as you foil every single one of their plans. "Ah! So you managed to kill one of my seven trusted lieutenants, who was seconds away from securing your stronghold and defeating you completely. Everything is going according to plan." What an asshole.

Also, it has been observed that Azmodan looks like a big dumb owl. Haha.

Diablo III

I own Diablo III! I have the ultimate baby edition or whatever it is called, but considering this is basically my first playthrough with a monk, I don't know all about the extra features and adventure mode and all that. I have been lingering in the desert for a while, but finally decided that I'm going to finally find all the body parts of this creepy ass necromancer whose head I am carrying around with me. He is SO talkative for a dead guy, but he is the only one who was able to make that magic stone that we absolutely need, so hang out with this creep we do.

Apparently the game is ridiculously easier than I thought, but I am stomping through the desert like nothing, finding a bunch of blood, going to some secret laboratory, and yadda yadda yadda. I really love Diablo logic, in which we are told a dozen times that this necromancer guy was unkillable, and so the secret wizard guild had to chop him in half, hide his blood in two different dungeons, hide his body in a completely separate dimension that is impossible to get to, and we spend over an hour gathering up all these different pieces, only to raise from the dead and kill him literally five minutes later. Um...wasn't he immortal? What exactly happened? Who cares, time to go kill a demon!

But anyway, yeah, I killed a demon lord, and now I'm off to the mountains to kill another demon lord, and that's it, we are officially OUT of demon lords, there is no way in hell that this magic stone is going to malfunction in some way and release all the demon lords and I'm going to have to kill each and everyone of them again. That DEFINITELY won't happen.
