What I Played Today: May 21

World of Warcraft: The Board Game

I bought the game that had been consuming my mind for a good...four days now, World of Warcraft, the derivative product. I actually think it’s a pretty well-designed game, even though it seemed to crash and burn so badly that they actually designed another game to replace it. I don’t really think it deserved that, but I guess now that I have access to both I can make my own judgement.

I started a solo game (the game does have this confusing designing where there is both a competitive and a cooperative element, which leads to some confusion), and didn’t make it past turn one, mainly because I hate playing on my floor. I do not have enough space in my current living arrangements to really play this game. I’m thinking of playing it on my bed, but that requires a certain amount of space clearing. The board is huge, and it will inevitably take up more space when I buy the expansion. Needless, I’ll likely try out my backup plan when I have some hours to kill.
