Harvest Moon: Hero of Leaf Valley, Persona 3 Portable
Played some more Harvest Moon, bought a chicken, did some part-time work taking care of some horses and the fairly confusing mining minigame (why can’t I just hit them all with a hammer?), and met some people...nothing much to say because Harvest Moon really isn’t that intriguing to talk about. It’s doing the same thing over and over moving towards some far off goal, just planting some plants, petting your cows, and running around town trying to find your sweetheart and give her a picture of a cat or something. I can’t really figure out why I like the series.
Also, for finally’s, Persona 3 Portable is OUT! And I have it now, and I have started playing. I’m playing as a dude for a little bit, just to check out what small changes they’ve made to the system and gameplay. The game seems a lot different from the first, mainly because of the, um, limitations of the PSP. There are no FMVs now, just descriptive images, and you can’t move around outside of the dungeons. It’s an interesting change, and if this is what it takes to get two different variations onto the same disc, let it be so. Plus, the fact that the day screens make it a lot easier to tell if you’re able to interact with something is a nice replacement to not have any cutscenes. Also, they added character portraits for some minor characters, which is a nice touch. But, there is at least an hour and a half of stuff to get through before the game itself starts, and I haven’t gotten that far yet, so...there we are.
Man, the PSP is kinda boring to talk about. No wonder nobody has bought one.
