What I Played Today: April 12

Guild Wars

Still playing this. I laid off the PvE for a bit and gave some PvP a try, seeing if it wasn't as dumb as I remembered it being. Oh, I'm sure it's fine for a lot of people, but the whole dynamic of it just leaves me pretty sour, the biggest problem being my playstyle hates cheap, and people in PvP basically bathe in it. I took a gander at what's in the metagame for mesmers right now, and the key seems to be energy denial, so I "borrowed" a playset (which is so easy I might barf with excitement; all you have to is copy a code from a website and paste in a bar in the game and voila, you have the set immediately, it's kinda great) and went into the random arenas. I could not win more than two games in a row, and the random part is truly random. There's no gaurantee you'll get the team you need, so you just gotta hope the other team sucks worse. I don't know.

I did go back to the objective-based Faction arenas, which I like a lot better because I can play more of a support role, but the team I was on just could not get it together, and assassins are huge jerks who can pin you and kill you in 10 seconds flat. Got to be a way to shut them up.
