Civilization 5, Persona 3
Played more Civilization 5, as you do, in which I started as the Siam Civilization, and already the game feels more dynamic. The city-states, with the limited power that they have, will still build up defenses in anticipation of attacks, but they will also occasionally gift you forces if they are of the right type and they like you. Some civilizations will just be dicks to you, like the English in my game, just every so often calling me up to tell me I’m an asshole. She also decided that she was defender of the city-states, meaning she would attack anyone who dared miss with a city-state. Unfortunately for her, her constant taunted made me side with Alexander, whose expansive tendencies caused him to balk at Elizabeth, and he turned to me as an ally, putting the entire continent at war with her, which led to her downfall as I cleared her out and took York, while Alexander got London and Nottingham. I also took Hanoi for what can only be described as the hell of it, and now I’m waiting for my tech to progress fast enough so I can travel over deep ocean to meet the other three civilizations in the game, and somehow try to slow them down so that I can win. It’s a lot of fun, although a bit dull if you’re just waiting, but it’s definitely feels a lot more challenging and dense than previous games.
Also played some more Persona 3, just to get going. I maxed out another social link, the dying guy, which was odd, and then I made some new high-powered Persona for the hell of it. Really just working towards the ending at this point…about another week in game before stuff starts happening again.
